About Us

Dr. Rick Dina, D.C. has been studying health and nutrition since 1986 and has been a raw food vegan since 1987.  He worked at Hippocrates Health Institute in 1991 and then traveled the country with the juiceman company teaching the benefits of raw fruit and vegetable diets before entering chiropractic school in 1992.

After earning his doctorate degree in 1997, he practiced at True North Health Education Center, a multi-disciplinary holistic health facility in Rohnert Park, CA.  At True North he practiced outpatient chiropractic care, as well as nutrition and lifestyle consulting at their associated residential health care facility; routinely helping patients recover from high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, and other nutrition and lifestyle related ailments.

In 2002, Dr. Dina taught a required course, "The Determinants of Health," at Bastyr University in Seattle, WA; the flagship 4-year Naturopathic Medical School granting Doctorate degrees in Naturopathic Medicine.

In 2004, he founded Living Health Chiropractic and Wellness Center (formerly Vitality Wellness Center) in San Rafael, CA where he offers chiropractic care, massage therapy, and nutrition consulting, classes, workshops and retreats with his wife, Dr. Karin Dina, D.C.

Dr. Karin Coleman Dina, D.C. has been studying and practicing raw food nutrition since 1990. In 1997, she earned her second undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado in Biology with Magna Cum Laude honors. In 1999, she began the naturopathic medicine program at Bastyr University.  In 2002, after 2.5 years at Bastyr, she transferred to Palmer College of Chiropractic West to finish her doctorate degree and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors in 2005.

Throughout her undergraduate and graduate coursework, she studied plant biology, advanced nutrition and nutritional biochemistry extensively.  In her consultations, she draws on this extensive and varied knowledge base to offer solutions for patients to restore and optimize their health.

Dr. Karin is now in private practice at Living Health Chiropractic and Wellness Center in San Rafael, CA, where she offers nutrition consulting, classes and retreats with her husband, Dr. Rick Dina, D.C. In addition, the Dinas co-hosted Nutrition for Optimal Vitality, a two-week wellness retreat, at the Ann Wigmore Institute on the tropical Caribbean island of Puerto Rico in 2007.

Dr. Karin and Dr. Rick are faculty members of the Living Light Culinary Arts Institute in Fort Bragg, CA, where they teach four science-based raw food courses: Introduction to Raw Food Nutrition, Science of Raw Food Nutrition I, Science of Raw Food Nutrition II, and the Benefits of Raw Food Nutrition Educator Course.
